Boss Metal attended the AFSA International Aluminium Conference and Exhibition (IACE 2022), held on October 26 and 27 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), situated on a peninsula beneath the iconic Table Mountain. Dubbed “the premium global aluminium event of 2022,” the conference was organized by the Aluminium Federation of South Africa (AFSA), one of the world’s most active aluminium industry associations, which has been promoting the use of aluminium in South Africa since 1981.

The conference focused on positioning the South African aluminium industry as a global supplier of primary and secondary aluminium metal, parts, and finished products, with a strategic vision of doubling local aluminium demand by 2030. The program featured local and international industry experts, academic presentations, and deep-dive sessions on aluminium applications, market analysis, and technological advancements. Over 200 participants attended, with 17 exhibitors showcasing their products across the exhibition hall.

Networking highlights included a cocktail event, a factory tour of Guala Closures, and a full-day wine tour through the vineyards of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Boss Metal’s participation at IACE 2022 was part of our Africa expansion strategy, having expanded into the African market in 2024 to supply raw materials at competitive prices. The event reinforced our connections with the South African aluminium community and opened opportunities for deeper engagement across the continent.
