Boss Metal attended the Alumina 2024 Conference and Exhibition — the 12th International Alumina Quality Workshop (AQW) — held from April 22 to 25 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai, UAE. Themed “Beyond the Cycle: A Circular Economy,” this prestigious event was hosted and sponsored by Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the world’s largest premium aluminium producer and the biggest industrial company in the UAE outside oil and gas.

The conference brought together over 300 delegates from the global alumina industry, including producers, academics, suppliers, and stakeholders. The program featured a world-class technical lineup covering innovations essential to transforming alumina production into a low-carbon, low-environmental-impact industry. Highlights included a “Net Zero Alumina Refining” workshop sponsored by the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), as well as technical tours of EGA’s Al Taweela Alumina Refinery and Aluminium Smelter.

This was a significant event for Boss Metal as it coincided with our expansion into the UAE, where we established a new headquarters for regional logistics and support in 2025. Alumina 2024 provided direct access to the Gulf region’s aluminium leadership and strengthened our positioning as a knowledgeable, globally connected partner in the aluminium supply chain.
